The Greene County Activities Department is pleased to announce a new project to highlight the many successful programs and athletes that have competed in Greene County.
The Greene County Athletic Hall of Fame will highlight and celebrate the accomplishments of graduates of Jefferson, Jefferson-Scranton, Scranton and East Greene or student athletes who have participated in a Greene County CSD sanctioned sport.
The criteria for qualification to be inducted into the Ahtletic Hall of Fame is listed below. To nominate an inductee please conact Greene County Activities Director Todd Gordon to receive a nomination form. A seven person committee will meet in late October to select the inaugural class with induction taking place on Friday, January 17 between basketball games vs Gilbert. A community reception will be held on Thursday, January 16 at 6:00 p.m.

Hall of Fame Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a graduate of GCCSD, Jefferson, Jefferson-Scranton, Scranton or East Greene and/or have participated in a Greene County CSD sanctioned sport.
- Must be an IGHSAU or IHSAA sanctioned sport.
- All Team State Champions and First Team All State Individuals/State Champions in the following sports:

- Football
- Volleyball
- Boy’s and Girl’s Cross Country
- Boy’s and Girl’s Golf
- Boy’s and Girl’s Track
- Boy’s and Girl’s Basketball
- Boy’s and Girl’s Soccer
- Boy’s and Girl’s Swimming
- Wrestling
- Softball
- Baseball
4. Athletes must have been selected by one of these agencies:

- Iowa Newspaper Association (INA)
- Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union (IGHSAU)
- Iowa High School Athletic Association (IHSAA)
- Des Moines Register
- GCCSD High School (Jefferson, J-S, Scranton, and East Greene) graduates that have been selected to a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place team or placed 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in a NCAA sponsored event for Division I, II, or III, NAIA or Olympics.

Elite Coaches Hall of Fame Criteria
Hall of Fame Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a coach of a sanctioned sport.
- If you are a coach of more than one sport, each sport will be considered individually.
- Must score 150 points using the following criteria:
Individual Sports – Boy’s and Girl’s Golf, Boy’s and Girl’s Track,
Boy’s and Girl’s Cross Country, and Wrestling.
- 1 point for each year as a head coach in that specific sport.
- 1 point for each winning season.
- 3 points for each Conference, Regional, District, or Substate Championship.
- 1 point for each year that you coached an individual state place winner.
- 3 points for each individual state champion.
- 10 points for each top 3 finish in the state tournament.
- 20 points for each State Championship team.
- 20 points for being selected a member of your sport’s State Hall of Fame.
- 30 points for being selected a member of your sport’s National Hall of Fame.
Team Sports – Boy’s Basketball Girl’s Basketball, Football, Volleyball,
Soccer, Baseball, and Softball
- 1 point for each year as head coach of that specific sport.
- 1 point for each winning season.
- 3 points for each Conference Championship.
- 5 points for each team that qualifies for the state tournament or state playoffs (Football).
- 3 points for each team win at the state tournament.
- 10 points for each state championship game or match reached.
- 20 points for each state championship won.
- 20 points for being selected a member of your sport’s State Hall of Fame.
- 30 points for being selected a member of your sport’s National Hall of Fame.
